Event report: Arnprior Radio Control Club(ARCC) Fun Fly Aug 4th 2007

ARCC held our annual club Open FunFly on Aug 4th, 2007. The day was sunny, not hot but a bit breezy. We had 27 registered pilots, with one pilot coming from Northbay. He camped overnight at the site.

There weren’t as many flights as normal due the windy conditions, but some excellent flying exhibitions took place. Aircraft size ranged from Jean Claude’s bungee launched electric micro F104, to Claude Melbourne’s large Edge. Claude also flew his helicopter, which is new to him.

For lunch we had the usual barbecue of hamburgers and hotdogs and refreshments. My wife helped a great deal with the organization and the serving of the food. Thanks Judy.

We had donations of prizes from several local companies, hobby shops, and Carleton University. Thanks to Owen Bird for his efforts at visiting all the companies. We couldn’t have the nice door prizes without the generosity of these organizations.
