Club News

Welcome to the ARCC News page... Its time for an update as the 2011 season comes to a close .

We have had a spectacular flying season again this year, Weather was Great , Fellowship was Better, to make this the Best flying season I can remember having !

We also had a few grads in the wings program, and some help with the their training with new Instructors....Congrats , And Welcome to you all !

There has been a change in the Club Executive, and   I would like to welcome Dave Blackwell as the new ARCC Treasurer .

You will notice that the Web site has been updated with a new front page, and contact info for your renewals of membership(Thanks to  Dave P for his work on the web site )

I would also like to thank Brian Wattie for his many years of service to this Club, in many respects it was his steady hand that helped make this the Club that it is.

Brian has been elected as the VP of the IMAA , and I'm certain they will benefit as we did with his service.

Membership is stable around 55  or so ...The field  and facilities are in good shape...If you haven't been to the field since the work day meeting ,we voted to create   a new flight station off to the right of the original flight stations, to access

the smoother part of the runway,as well at our Spring work day there will be a bit of work to clean up the perimeter of the runway with a bush hog and knocking down the tall hay to allow

lower approaches without fear of  snagging our aircraft .As well we will rent a Roller to smooth the rest of the runway .( There will be an email sent to let you know when )

Looking forward to 2012 ...

We will be hosting the IMAC Nationals this August 24, 25 ,26 th  and I will be looking for some volunteers and participants from our membership ,

As well It will be the 25th annual IMAA Giant Scale Event at Kingston... I believe it was the Largest attended event in Canada in 2011 with over 100 pilots registered

thanks to Our own Dave Penchuk and Brian Wattie  it should even bigger and better !

I  hope you all have a Productive Building season and are ready to enjoy another great flying season at the ARCC in 2012

 See you at the field!
