The Rally of Giants was held at the Arnprior Municipal Airport on the 26-29 June 2008.

That’s right from 26-29 June 2008 the Rally of Giants was held at the Arnprior Municipal Airport (just 40km west of Ottawa). In 2006, the IMAA Board of Directors had approved the Ottawa Valley Chapter’s proposal to host the Rally. This was the first time in its 30 year history; That the IMMA’s annual fly-in was to be held in Canada.

It was a great affair. The airport commission, the City of Arnprior, the Lions Club and the Arnprior Radio Control Club; All teamed together with this local IMAA Ottawa Valley Chapter 217 to make a successful event.

  • Paved 600ft runway
  • R/V parking area (no hookups)
  • Commercial and craft booths
  • Friday night barbeque
  • Saturday night dinner
  • Full Scale Vintage flypasts (cancelled due to weather!)

If you were a pilot and attended this event, you were asked questions upon questions abour your airplanes and your interest in this great hobby

In addition to MAAC or AMA membership, If you wanted to become a member of the IMAA; Thre is a new introductory offer about to be announced so visit the IMAA website HYPERLINK "http://www.fly-imaa.org" "www.fly-imaa.org" to learn more about it.

Well what a success!!
  • 109 registered Pilots (including 19 from the US)
  • Over 210 aircraft
  • Over a thousand "Die Hard" Spectators from Arnprior!!!
  • The only Air Show on the weekend
And it was all due to your help. Over 40 of you came out and made the first ever ROG in Canada a success.
